Working group on water balance run by Artesia is a success

November 18th was the first session of a new group to bring water companies together to discuss the latest developments and concerns in water balance reporting. Twelve utilities attended the event hosted by Severn Trent Water and facilitated by Artesia.

We discussed all aspects of the water balance and the current challenges that companies are facing, alongside the long term direction of water balance reporting and best practice.

Next time we will look to take a deeper dive into the largest areas of uncertainty in the water balance such as unmeasured household consumption and non-household consumption. We are also looking at the challenges of backcasting and integrating smart metering into the water balance.
