Every year Waterwise hosts the annual UK water efficiency conference, this year’s title is Running out of water – water efficiency’s key role in affordability, growth, and resilience. The conference will be held digitally and begins on March 7th, 2023. Six sessions will take place over two weeks, with the conference ending on March 21st.
As an affiliate sponsor, Artesia will have five members of staff in attendance. Rob Lawson and Joe Cahill both have speaking slots.
Artesia are proud and honoured to be the only organisation at the conference with two speakers.
Rob Lawson, director at Artesia, will be speaking about Artesia’s project entitled ‘Household and non-household demand: Preparing for 2023 and beyond’. This project will delve into issues surrounding the drought conditions that took place in 2022, much of which attracted substantial media interest. The project will set out what the water industry can do in preparation for summer 2023, in order to minimise customer usage restrictions.
Joe Cahill, a Social Science KTP associate working in collaboration with Artesia and the University of Manchester, will be taking part in the opening session focussed on accountability. Joe will be discussing water efficiency and understanding customer behaviours in the context of holding government, regulators and water industry stakeholders accountable. He will also be reflecting on this topic as an early career professional and a member of Gen Z. Joe’s work has been gathering momentum and attracted lots of interest at Waterwise’s UK Water Efficiency Strategy Launch event last year.
