The people behind the projects
Dene Marshallsay
Dene is a founder, director and co-owner of Artesia. He is a leading expert in the management and analysis of water use and leakage and applies nearly 30-years of experience to the water management challenges we face today.
Rob Lawson
Rob is a subject matter expert in water resources planning, with a background in water resource modelling, demand forecasting and water efficiency. He is Chair of the CIWEM Water Resources Panel.
Shana Meeus
Shana has a background in Mathematics, Statistics, and Sales. Having gained a deep understanding of the UK water industry, Shana applies a wide range of statistical modelling and analysis techniques to key water sector challenges.
Sarah Rogerson
Sarah combines a deep understanding of water demand with a strategic approach to data science. She focuses on ensuring analytical work is well designed, proportionate and clearly linked to real-world decisions for clients.
Francesca Cecinati
Francesca is an Environmental Engineer with a background in hydrology, statistics, coding, data science, remote sensing and GIS. Francesca is an expert in PCC, NHH, and uncertainty modelling.
Kayleigh Powell
Kayleigh is our projects and resources manager. She performs the vital role of keeping track of who is working on what, and ensuring that resources are planned and scheduled properly.

Cristina Munilla
Cristina is a data scientist who has been a key part of our eVader development work and who has a track record in creating powerful, insightful statistical models that describe the relationships between water use and its drivers.
Tom Andrewartha
Tom is a dedicated and ambitious water demand management specialist with a passion for water efficiency and behaviour change. An authentic leader, Tom has honed his skills in programme management, strategy development, and policy design to reduce water usage, reduce waste, and ensure the long-term security of water resources.
Rhys Durham
Rhys is a consultant focussed on leakage, the water balance and metering. He has experience in data analysis and processing, laboratory and experimental testing of meters, valves and other equipment, alongside a wide range of consultancy projects.
Daniele Di Fiore
Daniele has a background in environmental management. He is an expert in app development and product solutions, with extensive experience in household consumption forecasting, fast-logging and night use analysis, headroom and uncertainty modelling.
Tom Nelson
Tom is a data scientist with a background in physics, data analysis, coding, and research projects. He has experience in PCC methodologies, demographic analysis, and app development.
Jamie Urwin
Jamie is a data engineer with experience in a wide range of data platforms. Experienced in Python he has worked on a number of our projects in Azure Databricks and AWS.
Basil Langham
Basil is a Consultant Data Scientist. He has a mathematics degree from the University of Cambridge from which he brings to the team a broad range of statistical and modelling skills.
Ben Tram
Ben has a strong background in forecasting and analytical modeling, bringing these skills to tackle complex challenges in the water sector. He thrives on working with intricate datasets to help clients navigate uncertainty, assess risk, and make informed decisions about the future.
Dan Rooney
Dan has a background in computational chemistry and Python programming. His previous experience lies in the financial services industry, where he analysed large volumes of data using a range of machine learning algorithms and other sophisticated statistical techniques.
Lauryn Barnes
Lauryn is a Data Engineer, AWS qualified, with experience in pipelines, data processing, visualisation, and testing, Python, and R programming.
Elizabeth Eyers
Elizabeth combines a background in mathematics with a flair for clear communication and practical problem-solving. She enjoys building statistically robust solutions and making complex analysis accessible to a wide range of audiences.
Katie Butler
Katie is a data scientist with a background in mathematics, and experience in building R packages and Shiny apps for a reinsurance company, as well as Higher Education data analysis.
Laura Watt
Laura is a project professional and works to ensure projects run as smoothly as possible by monitoring project health, liaising with stakeholders and reviewing resource allocations.
Rachel Willingale
Rachel supports the smooth and efficient running of projects to ensure we meet our key objectives. She comes from a background in recruitment and studied Geography at Exeter University
